Privacy Policy

The short version
X Dim Mode does not collect, store, or transmit any browsing data or usage data. The extension has no analytics and no accounts. The only personal information involved anywhere is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to product updates. This policy covers both the browser extension and this website.
How the extension works
X Dim Mode applies a CSS override on x.com to restore the Dim background theme. It only activates on x.com and does not interact with any other websites or services. Your theme preferences (the selected theme, custom color, and Extras toggles) are stored by your browser. If you are signed in to your browser and have extension sync enabled, your browser roams those preferences across your own devices using your browser account — we never receive them, and they are never sent to any server we control.
Email newsletter
When you install the extension, a welcome page may offer an optional email signup for product updates. If you choose to subscribe, your email address is sent to MailerLite, our newsletter provider — via a small relay on xdim.app that passes it straight through and stores nothing — and stored by them for the sole purpose of sending you X Dim Mode updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. If you don't sign up, no email data is collected.
Third-party services
The extension makes no network requests other than the optional MailerLite newsletter signup described above. It contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising code.
If you uninstall the extension, your browser opens a short optional feedback form hosted on Google Forms. Loading that page shares your IP address and browser user-agent with Google, as any web page would. The form is entirely optional — you can close it without answering, and it asks for no identifying information.
This website (xdim.app) uses Vercel Analytics, a cookieless privacy-friendly service that records aggregate page views. It sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not build a profile of you. The website also fetches public install and rating figures from the Chrome Web Store listing to display them.
Permissions
The extension requests a single permission — storage, used to remember your theme settings — and runs its content script only on x.com, twitter.com, and pro.x.com. It requests no broad browsing permissions and cannot read any other site you visit.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page with a new date.
